How to protect your car paint in winter? A proven method from Japan

Winter in some parts of Europe lasts up to 5 months. It’s definitely the toughest time for our cars, even if it doesn't snow. How can you protect your car’s paint effectively without breaking the bank? We have the answers.

In the world of detailing and car care, consensus is rare. As many specialists as there are, there are that many opinions — and just as diverse are the solutions waiting for us in stores: from quartz coatings to elastomer coatings, and increasingly popular graphene sprays promising high durability.

However, we suggest sticking to what’s proven. Especially when you like to examine every euro twice before spending it. We also don’t want to smash our piggy bank but still enjoy a great price-to-performance ratio. In this situation, we recommend waxes. But not just any waxes — we’re talking about the family of super-durable Fusso Coat waxes.

Fusso Coat F7 – an all-round automotive wax

Behind the mysterious F7 name lies… Fusso Coat in liquid form, the younger brother of the traditional paste wax. The bottle of liquid wax contains 300 milliliters, and inside the box you’ll also find two sponge applicators — slightly firmer than those supplied with standard waxes. Fusso Coat F7 excels in speed and ease of application. The liquid wax flashes quickly and is exceptionally easy to buff off.

Beyond standard paint application, F7 has earned praise as a wax… for everything. Users appreciate its versatility, applying it to motorcycles (a liquid wax is easier to use on the complex aerodynamic shapes of motorcycle fairings), but also to bicycles, lawnmowers, outdoor generators, air-conditioning units, and agricultural equipment. Durability? As the name suggests, 7 solid months of excellent gloss and powerful water- and dirt-repellency.

Additionally, experienced detailers will be glad to know that F7 can be applied to protective films. Car owners who take paint protection seriously often look for additional ways to maximize water repellency and resistance to road grime beyond film protection.

Fusso Coat 12 Months – twelve months of protection

Let’s forget those 1950s American movie scenes where drivers were polishing their Cadillacs with some kind of paste. Today, modern waxes are usually synthetic, boast impressive parameters of gloss, depth, and hydrophobicity, and are most often… Japanese.

So it should come as no surprise to anyone in the detailing world that for the harshest time of the year, the best choice will be the Fusso Coat 12 Months automotive wax.

This is one of the most popular car waxes in the world, chosen by over 10 million drivers. Behind the success of this wax — continuing over 30 years of development of the Fusso product line — lies its unique formula: a safe addition of PTFE, a chemical compound known for example from non-stick frying pans, which gives this product its unrivaled slickness, and thus hydrophobicity and dirt resistance.

忠告 TIP:

When applying Fusso Coat 12 Months, apply the thinnest layer possible. The thicker the layer, the harder it will be to buff, sometimes leaving unattractive marks. Less is more!

Once applied, Fusso rewards you with an excellent combination of gloss, enhanced paint depth, and strong water repellency (evident through water beading into round drops instead of flat sheets). Fusso Coat also provides strong dirt resistance and makes washing the car significantly easier, including removing contamination that can be a real headache on bare, unprotected paint — such as bird droppings, tree sap, or dried insect residue.

The Fusso family: beyond wax

The fun doesn’t end after applying wax! The formula known from Fusso Coat wax can also be found in other Soft99 products:

Fusso Coat Speed & Barrier

This is a quick detailer solution. Quick detailers are easy-to-use products, usually sprays, which when applied to the paint (although it’s recommended to spray onto a microfiber first and then onto the surface) support existing protection or work independently to provide gloss or hydrophobicity.

Used together with Fusso Coat wax, Speed & Barrier gives the paint incredible slickness. It’s also an excellent way to extend the lifespan of this already durable wax. Use occasionally on a rinsed car. It also works great on its own, without prior wax application, and each use is made even more enjoyable by its sweet mango fragrance.

Ultra Glaco

Okay, we said we would only write about paint, but we can’t help ourselves. Yes, this is not a mistake. The PTFE-based hydrophobic formula known from Fusso has also found its way into Ultra Glaco, a glass coating.

Just like with the wax, you can count on up to 12 months of strong water repellency, which you’ll see clearly on your windshield every time it rains.

If you’re a driver or motorcyclist and you still haven’t tried Fusso Coat — it’s high time to give it a shot! Besides the joy of working on your machine, you’ll also save on washing and regular maintenance.
